28 Year Old Joe Kennedy Passes Away

Major league baseball southpaw, Joe Kennedy was born May 24, 1979 in La Mesa, California. He passed away at just 28 years of age, November 23, 2007.

Kennedy started his major league career in 2001 spending time with several organizations.

Kennedy began his career with the Tampa Bay Rays going on to pitch with the Colorado Rockies, Oakland Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Toronto Blue Jays.

This past season Kennedy bounced around the majors pitching for three of those teams in the Athletics, Diamondbacks, and the Blue Jays.

ESPN.com reports, "Major league pitcher Joe Kennedy died early Friday morning while at home with his family in Florida, agent Damon Lapa confirmed to ESPN.com."

ESPN.com continued to report stating, "The cause of Kennedy's death could not immediately be determined, Lapa said. Initial indications are Kennedy may have suffered a brain aneurysm or heart attack, he said.

Kennedy passed out at home and was brought to a hospital, Hillsborough County sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter told the Associated Press. She had no further details."

Kennedy leaves behind a one year old son and a wife.

I think I speak for all people - baseball fans or not - that our thoughts and prayers go out to Joe Kennedy and his entire family.
