Hunter To Make Grabs For New Team: Festive Thanksgiving For Hunter And Angels

Torii Hunter can sit back, relax, eat turkey, and watch some football until he has to sign his heafty contract.

ESPN reported that Hunter and The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have agreed on a five year deal worth $90 million.

Hunter will use his gold glove defense to patrol center field where another great center fielder was last season; Gary Matthews Jr.

Matthews, ESPN is reporting, will play as the DH and give Vladimir Guerrero and Garret Anderson days off in the corner outfield positions.

Matthews was possibly last years biggest outfield free agent and LAA signed his also to a five year deal -his worth $50 million.

Hunter is a seven time gold glover but will also be used to protect Vladimir Guerrero which is something that the Angels have been searching for.

Last season, Hunter batted .287 crushing 28 homers and driving in 107.

Now the Angels line-up card could look a little something like this:
1) Chone Figgins - SS
2) Howie Kendrick - 2B
3) Garrett Anderson - LF
4) Vladimir Guerrero - RF
5) Torii Hunter - CF
6) Gary Matthews Jr. - DH
7) Casey Kotchman - 1B
8) Dallas McPherson - 3B
9) Mike Napoli - C
That is a pretty scary line-up with speed, power, and average players up and down the line-up and their pitching doesn't look very fun for opponet hitters with John Lackey, Kelvim Escobar, Jon Garland, Jered Weaver, and Joe Saunders.

Don't forget either that th Angels may still be in the running for Miguel Cabrera and Johan Santana. They may be willing to part with Ervin Satana, Brandon Wood and Howie Kendrick and pick up one of those two elite players.

It doesn't seem like a stretch to say that if the team can stay healthy that they are alrady division favorites and one can even go out on a limb and say World Series Champions.
Hunter surely had a hearty Thanksgiving being weighed down by turkey, cranberry sauce and stuffing but hopes that the only thing weighing him down in the fiturewill be his heavy pockets and World Series rings.
